Five Ponds is an annual creative writing festival launched in 2021. It "seeks to celebrate readers and writers of creative works in traditional and new genres, catering first to individuals living north of Boston, but welcoming of literati from the wider world of letters. Five Ponds seeks to feature writers of diverse ethnicities and backgrounds, particularly writers of color, with an emphasis on new works in translation, and on the translation process."
This logo seeks to build off the festival name (which references Beck Pond, Coy Pond, Gravelly Pond, Gull Pond, and Round Pond in Wenham, MA) with an organic and playful representation of a pond, and typography that recalls the style of a letterpress, without falling into typewriter clichés.
